Why We Need A Justice League Video Game

SPOILERS FOR COMICS, MOVIES, AND GAMES AHEAD!!

We live in an age where not only are comics once again a big deal, but video games are also a major part of our lives. Perhaps one of the most widely known and adored video games out there right now is the Arkham series. Now that the series is over, Rocksteady needs to go with this new idea for a new series/game. We need a Justice League video game! If Rocksteady (or any company for that matter) used the right formula it could possibly be the best game of all time. One of the first things that needs to happen is to capture the characters right. Superman needs to be the hero everyone knows and loves. Batman needs to be the vigilante, the Dark Knight. Wonder Woman needs to be the amazing hero that she is. Same for the heroes. We also need the locations of each hero and each one of them needs to be open world. Imagine having Batman fight crime in Central City? Or Superman flying into Gotham? This game writes itself. Story is where it gets tough. I would rather have an original story that brings the League together. I'd love to see some of the best League stories all kind of honored and possibly used. Like elements with the Tower of Babel. It could be a story where the villains frame the heroes and try to get them to turn on each other and the League has to stop them. Or perhaps you could see the story line of New World Order with the League already being established. Or maybe skip  story lines all together and go straight with an original story like Arkham. I'm sure with the right amount of time they could figure out the play scheme but I think single player mixed with co-op if you wanted to, that would be amazing so you could go alone or with friends. And with improved graphics, destructive worlds, and multiple worlds to play in, they could win the world over. Will we ever see a Justice League video game? Who knows, but I would certainly hope that it is in the near future. Comment your thoughts and let me know what you think!

Star-Lord and Kitty Pryde #1 Review

SPOILERS TO FOLLOW

To say that I have been waiting for this comic to release since Secret Wars began would be an understatement. I've been waiting for this comic since the ending of The Black Vortex storyline. Perhaps my (and the internet's) favorite comic couple, Starkat, star in their first comic together but not all is as it seems. Peter Quill is on the run and Kitty is working for Doom, so it's nothing like the Starkat we all love and remember. I can't wait to see where this story leads, especially with the new Marvel series launching in the fall! But for now if you love Starkat, Disney songs, and a great story with great art to go along with it, PICK THIS UP NOW! Don't even consider skipping this one!

(PS: on a side note this is my official tenth blog! I'm super happy to get here with this comic being the subject matter. Please continue to check back for blogs, reviews, etc. and remember to tell your friends. Thanks again and happy reading!)

Archie vs Sharknado #1 Review

MILD SPOILERS AHEAD

If you picked up this comic and didn't enjoy it then you missed out on a good one! With all the humor of Archie comics and all the ridiculousness (but greatness) that is Sharknado, this was a winning combo. The comic tied right into Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! but was in its own right a great standalone. There are also some fun cameos to look out for, but all in all this is a great comic with a great art and a great story so I recommend you pick it up!

Justice League #42 Review

SPOILERS

With #42 The Darkseid War reaches part 2 with some rather interesting consequences. Without going in to deep of spoiler-y territory perhaps my favorite part was when Batman jumped onto the chair and became a new god. Now knowing a lot of information he asks who killed his parents and of course got the answer he already knew, perhaps testing the knowledge. He then asks what The Joker's real name is and he is shocked to find out who he is. Of course it is not shown to the reader but it can't help but make the mind wonder. It was a good comic but just a little messy but I look forward to #43 coming out soon!

What I Don't Like in Batman: Arkham Knight: Part 2

(SPOILERS AHEAD)

In Part 1, I talked about what I liked in Batman: Arkham Knight. Now it's time for what I think is bad (or rather annoying) in the game. This post will be relatively shorter because there isn't much annoying with the game. One of the first things to mention is how the Batmobile is basically abused in the game. There are some missions that could've been done without having to use the car but rather it seems like you use it more often than not. Also, a lot of the boss battles using the car are ridiculous. Seriously, 45 tanks vs me in the car!?! It wouldn't be so bad if the weapons were more stable to use but maybe I'm just complaining about nothing. Also the side missions in the game start feeling more like chores rather than fun side missions. One of the last complaints was something I said I would talk more about here. (FINAL SPOILER WARNING) I did like how the Arkham Knight turned out to be Jason Todd but I also didn't like it. With the title Arkham Knight, that could've easily been Batman himself and Red Hood the villain. Another thing I think would've been cool would have been a Hush type story with the Arkham Knight actually being Thomas Elliot. The armor would've been him trying to be Batman and then taking off the mask and being Bruce Wayne. Imagine what Batman would've felt!?! Alas though these are in a sense nitpicks cause this game was one of the best games I've ever played. Rocksteady, the next game you make is gonna have big shoes to fill! That's all on Arkham Knight for now, feel free to comment what you thought of the game or what you didn't like!

What I Like in Batman: Arkham Knight: Part 1

(SPOILERS FOR BATMAN: ARKHAM KNIGHT AND COMICS TO FOLLOW)

Batman: Arkham Knight has been out for exactly a month now and I barley finished the main story last week or so. (I'm slow to play video games). Aside from that this game is by far in my opinion the best Arkham game yet. With the introduction of the Batmobile into the game and a great story, I was blown away. But this isn't a review (technically speaking), but rather an opinion piece with Part 1 being what I like and Part 2 being what I would've changed. So now onto what I liked. I honestly enjoyed the way this game went. It's nice to see the Arkham-verse be different from the main comics universe. Another thing I really liked was how, in a sense, symbolic. The way that fear is used throughout the entire makes the game work. Having Scarecrow as the villain in a game about fear was a great choice and the payoff was great. Watching Batman overcome his, some may call, fear or obsession, of the Joker, was one of my favorite parts in the game. The story with the Arkham Knight was satisfying but I would have rather seen it played out in a different way (more on that in Part 2). The addition of the Batmobile was funny. Using it to chase down enemies or just to drive around the ever expanded new Gotham is fun too. The graphics in the game shine too, watching as the rain hits Batman and rolls off his suit or on the windshield of the Batmobile is ever amazing. I can only hope that with the next game Rocksteady makes, it's just as good as the Arkham series (Justice League anyone?). Part 2 will be coming later on and please comment your thoughts on the game or any ideas of what you'd like to see me blog about!

Ant-Man Review

"Heroes don't get any bigger"

(Spoilers ahead, DO NOT PROCEED UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE SPOILED")

Well this was a fun movie wasn't it? Well at least the middle and end of the movie that is. Now don't get me wrong, I absolutely enjoyed the movie. Everyone involved was very into their roles and they sold the story to me. The story was fantastic in the way that it flowed. In fact it was so good that it made the beginning of the movie so boring that I wanted to snooze through it. But if you can sit through 30-40 minutes or so of boring story telling then the ending is well worth the wait. It takes patience to get to the good parts of the movie. For example (last warning on spoilers) the scene at the New Avengers headquarters between Ant-Man and Falcon was excellent. Maybe one of the best scenes in the whole movie! The final battle between Ant-Man and Yellowjacket was also really well put together. Another part that makes the entire movie well worthwhile are the post-credits scenes. After a (in my opinion) lackluster post-credits scene for Avengers: Age of Ultron, Marvel delivers a huge knockout blow with these scenes. The first setting up a future hero (or heroine should I say *wink wink*). The second scene setting the stage for Captain America: Civil War and how Ant-Man himself will be involved. These scenes alone are worth the price of admission. Was this the best Marvel movie of all time? No. Was this the worst Marvel movie ever? No. Would I watch Ant-Man again? Certainly. The movie is still really good and remembering that this basically helped set-up the next movie helps make it better. I can only hope that for future origin stories in the near future, Marvel will continue this streak of good story telling. Just hopefully the openings of those movies are better than this one.

Welcome: Part III

They say "third times the charm" well I think this time is right! After two other times trying to launch this blog I've decided to make this a place where I can talk about all my favorite things! Ranging from books, comics, video games, and movies, I'm going to give my thoughts on them. Also ways to insert my nerdiness into today's pop culture. (ex. psychology of characters, how they tie into events, etc.). I hope that you will enjoy my thoughts and keep coming back frequently to see new posts. Also please feel free to comment and tell your friends! (Please be respectful with the comments) So without further ado; Welcome to my blog! (for the third time)
